9/5/07 - Big Ten in the Polls

After an impressive win over Washington State at home, the Wisconsin Badgers moved up two spots in both the Coaches and AP Poll to #5 in each. The Badgers are the lone Big Ten team ranked in this week's Top 10. Ohio State, despite blowing out Youngstown State, dropped one spot in each poll to #11 in the Coaches and #12 in the AP. The only other Big Ten school ranked this week in the Top 25 is Penn State. The Nittany Lions moved up 3 places in both polls, and are now ranked #14 in the AP and #15 in the Coaches poll. After their stunning loss at home to Division 1-AA Appalachian State, Michigan suffered the largest drop in the history of the AP Poll. The Wolverines, pre-season #5, dropped out of both the AP and Coaches poll, but continue to receive votes in each. Iowa is the only other Big Ten team receiving votes in either poll. The Hawkeyes received one vote in this week's USA Today Coaches Poll.
